Description of the project origin on the Maitreya website / 2008, author: Oldřich Hozman In May 2008 we opened the MAITREA House of Personal Development  in Týnská 6, in Prague’s Old Town. Our newly reconstructed house is on the place full of history in the heart of Prague, close to the Old Town Square, “Týnská” Cathedral and Dlouhá street. The author of the reconstruction and  interior project is acad.arch. Oldřich Hozman. During the reconstruction and in the interiors, his team used a ecological building materials by in a modern way. We would like our House to radiate the reason why it originated – i.e. so that it addresses all those who are on their own path of development, searching, teaching, and leading others. The building is full of vibrant and vital chi energy; it has a harmonic dimension based on a square and the golden ratio, the furniture is arranged with regard to geopathogenic zones and subtle energies…

This ancient Chinese teaching is based on a search for balance between humans, the building and the landscape; this teaching is also now employed during house constructions in the Czech Republic.

Various ecological building materials have been used during the construction. For example, the partition walls were built of unfired bricks which accumulate cold in the summer and heat in the winter.

Water in a Building

Piped water came to our houses after 1900. Before that people used wells, wooden troughs and water basins on their land or nearby. Water was brought into the house for use and then taken out again in containers, and much less water was consumed than now. The system had its uses and it was not that bad.

On the other hand, nowadays we can influence the quality of water coming to us through the pipes. In these circumstances one should act with moderation and due consideration.
